Statement of Faith
“We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God through whom God’s Spirit came to the earth for the salvation of humankind. He was put to death in the body and resurrected in spirit, such that those who repent and believe in him as their Lord and Saviour will be forgiven of their sins. Their spirits will receive the gift of eternal life in heaven.”
Core Beliefs
Christian Gospel Mission was established to nurture a deep understanding of Jesus Christ through the Bible and a profound love of God. Our mission is guided by the following biblical principles.
- The Divine Trinity is God, The Holy Spirit and The Holy Son who are omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent.
- The Bible is the foundation of salvation and the fulfilment of God’s Will.
- Jesus is the Christ and the body upon which the Holy Son rested. Salvation is fulfilled by believing in Jesus and acting on his words.
- The Trinity created all things to fulfil eternal love with human beings as counterparts. They sent Christ to deliver Their Word, so that all people may know Their love.
- God created human beings with a body, soul and spirit. At the end of its life, the body will die and will not resurrect. The spirit will inherit eternity based on the actions of the body.
- Faith is action more than words. When the body hears the Word of Christ, believes and takes action, the spirit resurrects and transforms into a heavenly being.
- The love between God and humankind is spiritual love. It is to think of Him, seek Him in prayer and put His Word into practice each day. Physical, sexual love is permitted only between a married couple as stated in the Bible.
Essential for Leadership at CGM
We are a Christ-centred and Word-focused church
- That Jesus Christ is the Son of God, in whom everyone must put their faith to inherit salvation (John 14:6)
- The Almighty Holy Trinity is only Jehovah God, the Holy Spirit and the Holy Son who are spirit (Isaiah 11:2 | John 5:30)
- Jesus was put to death in the body but resurrected in the spirit. The physical body cannot go to heaven (1 Cor 15:50 | 1 Pet 3:18)
- Jesus Christ returns in spirit at the Second Coming and works through the appropriate person of the time period, just as Elijah did at the First Coming (Luke 1:17)
